VAPIANO INTRODUCES FRESH CASUAL DINING TO U.S. in 2007

Award-winning European Concept Debuts with Three Local Restaurants this Spring/Summer Washington, D.C. (April 4, 2007) —Vapiano, a cosmopolitan fresh casual restaurant and lounge concept serving gourmet pastas, pizzas and salads, is crossing the Atlantic from Europe to debut in North America in Washington, DC. On April 26, 2007, Vapiano will open the doors to its first U.S. location at 4401 Wilson Boulevard in the Ballston area of Arlington, VA, followed quickly in May with a location in Downtown DC at 1800 M Street, NW and later in the summer in Chinatown / Gallery Place at 623 H Street NW.

“After roaring acclaim and success for Vapiano throughout Western Europe and Turkey, we are thrilled to expand our fresh casual dining experience to North America and to the bustling Washington, DC area,” said Kent Hahne, President of Vapiano International, LLC.

What is “Fresh Casual?” A breakthrough concept in healthy urban dining, Vapiano produces the freshest ingredients in-house, churning out fresh pasta in a glass-enclosed showcase daily and picking herbs from the enormous and savory garden that grows within each restaurant! Guests order directly from Vapiano chefs on the front cooking stage, providing an engaging and energetic interactive cooking experience for ultimate customization of Vapiano’s gourmet pizzas, pastas and salad selections. Using cutting edge "chip card" technology, customers personally order their food or drinks from the bar or from the individual stations with a simple swipe, relaxing at their table and paying upon exit.

With an average check of $10.00 for lunch and $13.50 for dinner, Vapiano’s a-la-carte, all day FRESH menu is both delicious and accessible to a variety of diners. The menu features classic Italian antipasti like fresh chopped Bruschetta and Beef Carpaccio served with cipriani sauce and arugula. Entrees of pasta or pizza are arranged in price groups, ranging from $6.75 to $9.75, based on desired cheeses, meats, seafoods and vegetables. Finish with a delicate dolci such as Tiramisu or Crema di Fragola – fresh strawberries with mascarpone and as your stomach satisfyingly fills, your wallet doesn’t empty.

Vapiano’s unmistakably modern image and vibe are the craft of Milan’s star architect and designer, Matteo Thun. The restaurant radiates an energetic, cosmopolitan lifestyle with a Mediterranean flair. Contemporary fine oak furnishings, natural stone, and soft earth-toned leather compliment sophisticated Villeroy & Boch dinnerware and hip pop-lounge music. “Vapiano is an emotional fuel-stop for people that love a modern, authentic and fresh casual dining experience,” said Hahne.

Vapiano has 17 locations open as of February 2007, including locations in Vienna, Istanbul, Budapest and Dubai. with 100 more scheduled to open worldwide. Vapiano plans to open 10 to12 corporate Vapiano restaurants in the Washington, DC area and is currently targeting expansion sites in several major metropolitan markets across the U.S. For more information, menus and visuals for Vapiano please visit www.vapiano.com or contact Linda Roth Associates at 703.417.2705 or carrie@lindarothpr.com.
